The Anaconda Plan was a military strategy that was proposed by a Union leader, known as Winfield Scott. It consisted of creating a blockade to prevent the South from trading with the world. Population could also be considered as an advantage for the Union. While the North had 21 million, the South had 9 million. This cleary was a disadvantage for the South. The North also has better military power, 2 in 5 people in North knew how to fight properly or handle a gun the right way.
