- Martin Luther was a hard working student, before he was caught in a storm. Surrounded by lightning he felt his life was in danger so he prayed to st. Anne. Martin vowed to become a monk if he survived the storm.
- Martin Luther spent years in the church as a monk but he soon realised it had become corrupt.

- Pope Leo and other people in power like priests and bishops began offering indulgences. This is when the church offered the ability to go straight to heaven if they pay the church money.

- Martin had to take action so he wrote a theses about how the church was corrupt it had 95 point so it was called the 95 theses. He nailed it to the doors of houses in his hometown Wittenberg.
