- I don’t want to fight you, Tybalt. Please! I’d like to be your friend.
- Montague! You have insulted me! I challenge you to fight!
- How can you say that, Romeo? Are you a coward?
- Put your sword away, Mercutio!
- So! You want to fight for him, do you? Well, come on. I’m ready for you.
- Mercutio is dead! Now one of you must die too!
- The following morning Tybalt sent a letter to Romeo’s house, challenging the young Montague to a fight. Then he and his friends went to look for Romeo in the streets of Verona. When they arrived in themarket square, they saw Benvolio, Mercutio and after that Romeo also arrived...
- Romeo killed Tybalt but Tybalt killed Romeo’s friend Mercutio. Romeo’s punishment will be exile. If he comes back to Verona, he’ll be arrested and put to death.
- Mercutio decided to fight instead of Romeo, the latter tried to prevent him but it was too late..they were already fighting. Then Tybalt lunged towards him, and his sword went into Mercutio’s body. Mercutio felt to the ground..there was a lot of blood on his shirt. A few minutes later he died.
- Exile is the same as death. What am I going to do, nurse? I can’t live without him. Oh! I want to die!
- At the end of the fight it was Tybalt who was lying dead on the ground. And Romeo when the guards were coming, he escaped.
- I have an idea. Spend tonight with Juliet, Romeo. Then leave early in the morning and go to the city of Mantua. Stay there. When the time is right, I’ll tell your families about the marriage and ask the prince to forgive you. I’ll send you a message when it’s safe for you to come back.
- When Escalus arrived, there was a crowd of people in the square. Benvolio told him everything. And when the prince made his decision Juliet’s nurse was in the crowd.
- Oh my goodness! I must tell my mistress immediately.
- Then the nurse hurried to the friar’s house.
- I know where Romeo is. He’s at Friar Laurence’s house. I’ll go there now and bring him here.
- When the friar heard that Juliet wanted to die, he knew he had to do something to help the two young lovers.
