  • John Brown was a white abolitionist born in the 1800's who was prominently known for fighting in bleeding Kansas. Under the alias of Isaac Smith, he was able to buy guns.
  • Historical Significance
  • We, the North, want no more peace!
  • We, the South, want no more peace!
  • In Virginia of October 16, 1859 at 8:00pm, "Brown and 18 of his men advance towards Harpers Ferry." Him and his men took both sides of the bridge and captured enslavers Lewis Washington and John Allstadt. The slaves they have captured were set free. In the end, 16 people were killed (10 of them being John Brown's men). John Brown and a few others ended up getting caught and jailed.
