Storyboard Text
- A war had broken out between Brian, France and Israel on one side and Egypt on the other. The war threatened to expand so Pearson proposed to the UN that troops from its member nations should go to the war zone as peacekeepers. The proposal was accepted.
- The nations at war agreed to pull back and the UN troops patrolled the area to maintain the peace. They wore whatever uniform their nation wears but wore blue berets to show that they were peacekeepers.
- Canadian troops have acted as peacekeepers for the UN in over 20 countries across the world. People in conflict zones regard them as fair and reliable. All peacekeepers need to be fair and reliable.
