  •  India is ruled by a caste system. The caste system limits people's participation in society to their own social and economic group (caste).
  • Because people in the caste system are by definition devided people, it was an easy task for the British to move in and colinize them.
  • For two hundred years the British exploited Indias's natural resources to boost England's own economy.
  • A young Mahatma Gandhi learned purifacation methods, spirituality, how to be a vegan and developed a non-violent attitude.
  • After becoming and attorney he traveled to South Africa. While on a train he was asked to move to the segregated section. When he refused, Gandhi was removed from the train. He desided at that moment to dedicate his life to fighting colonization and rascism using nonviolent methods
  • Gandhi spent several years in prison due to his political activity.
  • Gandhi inspiered his people to resiced all parts of British colonializm, racism and the British ecenomic system without violence
  • The people of India followed Gandhi's nonviolent resistance ways and eventually won their freedom. Finally on August 15th 1947 the British government yielded full independence to India. This was accomplished totally by passive resistance done without firing a shot.
