- The setting is in India during the war between India & England. The characters presented are Teddy and his family along with the Mongoose " Rikki Tikki", who became their pet and protector.

- The conflict arose when two Cobras Nag & Nagina ate one of Darzee's chicks. While Rikki Tikki was in the garden, he finds out the bad news and sees the poor birds flapping their wings and sobbing.

- Later, that night Rikki Tikki heard some sound in the bathroom. It was Nag & Nagina planning to kill Teddy's father and his family and own the garden. Rikki Tikki stopped their malicious plan and killed Nag.

- Nagina finds out about her husband death and she wants her revenge. Rikki Tikki knew that his task was to kill Nagina's eggs before they hatch and torment more except one.

- Nagina thinking that Teddy's father killed Nag, she slithers into their house to kill them. Rikki Tikki bribes Nagina with her last egg to leave the house and follows her down her hole and kills her.
