Kwanzaa is a little bit of a window for me because in the description, it states that they remember and honor their heritage. And I guess it's pretty much the same thing for what I celebrate: Christmas.
I've heard the name Kwanzaa before, but I've never really known exactly what it is. It's not a religious holiday, the name Kwanzaa just means "first fruits". It came from African-Americans in 1966 for them to honor their heritage. I think the holiday is a little bit different because it's not a religious holiday, and for me, Christmas is.
I thought it was pretty cool to read about how other religions celebrate their holidays. It gave me a new perspective because I've kind of just always thought that the holidays that are different from the one I celebrate were almost the same thing as each other, but after reading this, I realized that there are a bunch of unique and other cool ways of celebrating different holidays.
