Macbeth and Banquo walk through a bleak Scottish Moorland
They stumble upon three witches, who tell them their prophecies
When Macbeth returns, King Duncan crowns him Thane of Cawdor and tells him he will be coming over for dinner this evening. he sees that the prophecies are coming true
Macbeth tells the news to his wife, who immediately becomes obsessed with the thought of being queen, so she makes a plan to murder King Duncan.
When Duncan is sleeping, Lady Macbeth gets the guards drunk so Macbeth can enter and kill Duncan
When Macbeth enters Duncan's room he realizes he may not have the guts to do it, but his wife eventually persuades him.
