  • No my lord, send me, if you don't make it back, it would be horrible, but it won't be as bad if I don't make it back.
  • I challenge you to cut my head off!

  • A BIG SURPRISE!
  • WHAT!!!?????
  • Alrighty then, see ya next year!!!
  • This will keep you safe, my love!!
  • In the middle of King Arthur's new year celebration, a mysterious green knight comes in and proposes a challenge to the King, to cut his head off.
  • ONE YEAR LATER
  • Thank You So Much! I must be on my way now.
  • Be safe out there. It was nice to have you stay with us for a while.
  • Once Gawain accepts the challenge on the King's behalf, he slices the green knight's head clean off.
  • Gawain won the challenge by keeping his word
  • However, once his head is choped off, the knight picks it up and starts talking again!!!  Therefore, the challenge is not over yet!
  • Was he really a winner though?
  • Three Cheers for Gawain! Hip-Hip HORRAY!!!!
  • Yeah, I did it, but I should have been more willing to be loyal to my king without the "protection" of the green girdle
  • One year later, Gawain keeps his word, and goes to look for the green knight so he could give him the opportunity to chop off his head now. He is wandering all over the place, but he could not find the green chapel.  Eventually, he wanders to a house where he took a break for a while
  • SIr Gawain finally finds the green knight, and when the knight tries to chop his head off, it doesn't work. He says that Gawain was a good man because he kept his word, so he congratulated him.
  • Just put me out of my misery already!!!
  • It's Okay, you're a great man who keeps his word. I'm not going to kill you! You're a good person!
  • In the end, Sir Gawain went back to King Arthur's castle and told him and all the men about everything that happened. However, in his mind Gawain knew that he did not give his complete loyalty to his king because he was not willing to die for him.
