  • Australia joined world war on 3 September 1939, following the United Kingdom's declaration of war on Nazi Germany. During the first years of World War II most Australian troops were sent to Egypt to train then send to Mediterrian, middle east and part of North Africe battling Italy troops at Italy colony border with British troops and Indian troops.
