- In 563 B.C., a fortune teller told a king that his son will either be a great king, or a religious leader.
- your son will become a king or a religious leader.
- The boy was named Siddhartha, and as he grew up, he was curious about the world and wandered around.
- But his parents never exposed him to poverty because he might not become king.
- we must not let him see peasants.
- when Siddhartha went out of the castle, he was surprised at how much the people were suffering.
- he saw a sick man, a dead man, and old man, and a holy but poor man.
- He was curious about the old man, and so he left his wife and kid to search for the end of suffering.
- goodbye wife and son. I am off to end suffering.
- I cannot find the cause and cure of suffering :(
- After years and years of searching, he failed to find the cause and cure of suffering.
- So he decided to live a balanced life and give up greed and selfishness and harsh denial.
