Do you know how much drug use and overdose has affected our population?
No, I don´t, but maybe you could teach me...
Around 70,000 people have died per year from an overdose, and the percentage of people went up 4% from 2018-2019!
Oh my gosh! That´s a lot of people! Why do people even do drugs in the first place?
Most people do drugs to try and escape their problems, not knowing the consequences. Other people do start doing them because of peer pressure, or just seeing their friends do them, and when they start they become addicted.
Maybe people need to learn the consequences first, instead of trying things they know nothing about.
What actions can we take to prevent drug use and overdoses?
Well, we can watch out for our friends and families actions, because sometimes they´re giving hints about drug use or thoughts of overdose, and we don usually realize.
Also, some people could get addicted and overdose simply because they kept wanting more. They might not have even realized they took too much until the consequences came.
