Book banning occurs when a book is restricted by the government or any other authority. The question is how does book banning affect students and how does it impact their learning?
It's not uncommon for a teacher to assign a book for his/her class to read. However some parents may disagree with the contents of a book chosen. This may cause them to "ban" their child from reading it possibly causing a bad grade for the student.
The Book Thief takes place when books were getting banned and burned, and a girl named Liesel steals them. I think banning all the books they did affected their education a lot because what do you do in school? Read books and study them, they were a big part of school.
When you think about it, books are used a lot in school. If they are banned it can limited a student's learning. Yes, a teacher or a student can't help that a parent doesn't want their child to read a certain book, but it can definitely affect their education.
Book banning can affect a student’s education by preventing them from doing their work. If a parent “bans” their child from reading a book for school, the child may not tell the teacher in fear of getting made fun of by the other students thus causing them to fail the class
In conclusion, teachers should send home papers to parents making sure that it’s okay that their child reads a certain book.
