We are in October 1789, and let me tell things aren't going to well right now.
hi there, my name is Marie Antoinette, i'm the queen of France. I'm here to tell you a story about strong women who rose up to spark change in the monarchy!
You see,In the past our harvests of wheat haven't been to great, so the government had to increase the price of bread. They also thought increasing the price of bread would help pull the country out of debt
This year was a little different you see because there was a good harvest! but the grain wasn't distributed out to the people fairly, so many markets, instead of expensive bread, there was none at all
There is no bread to purchase our families will starve! how will we survive!!
I say we march all the way to Versaille and give those royals a peice of our mind!
Come with us to Paris!!!!!
These are the angry mothers of France furious at the lack of bread in the market Les Halles. in a quick amount of time this crowd will grow rapidly and become more and more violent
And That my friends is how the march started, and ended. Fun times...
Not so much. hehe
The women actually end up following an officer who participated in the fall of Bastille, On the way, the small group soon became a huge mob of 6000 people, marched all the way to versailles, where my husband, children and I were living.
The women walked about 20 kilometers out of Paris. IN THE RAIN MIGHT I ADD! Just to get to me and my family the entire way shouting BREAD! to the beat of a drum. When they arrive in Paris, after a day they convinced my family with them back to Paris, It was exhausting.
