- The War of 1812 ended in 1815 with neither side gaining or losing anything. Beginning of the 'Era of Good Feelings.'

- On December 2, 1823, James Monroe introduced the Monroe Doctrine to Congress. Laying out its purpose of limiting other countries governmental influence on the US
- In 1818, Andrew Jackson and his troops invaded the territory of Florida. It was being occupied by escaped slaves, pirates, and Indians.

- The first financial crisis of the US. Named 'the Panic of 1819.' This was the result of the amount of money borrowed to pay for the War of 1812. This led to foreclosures, bank failures, and unemployment.

- In 1820, 86 free African American colonists left the US from New York City sailing for Africa. They purposed to start their own colony in Sierra Leone.

- December 2, 1824 was the election of 1824. In the four-way ,republican dominated race, the Electoral College voted for there to be no majority rule. This caused an uproar from the people, because the people preferred Jackson but the House chose Adams.
