  • Welcome to the legislative branch learning class. If you don’t pay attention in my class there will be major consequences. So pay attention, any questions?
  • Im supposed to be at a football game so can you hurry up!
  • Calm down! First let’s get into the basics of the legislative branch. Legislature in which one house (or chamber) has proportional representation and the other equal representation.
  • That’s actually pretty interesting, so what was the proportional representation?
  • So what exactly are these branches?
  • To answer your question Mr. Football player there are two branches. The two branches are the House of Representatives and the senate.
  • Woah that's cool I never knew that!
  • What about the Senate?
  • The House of Representatives desired representation in portion to population in the proposed national legislature. This would allow them to control legislation because they would have more legislators and small states wanted equal representation.
  • Congress was created by Article 1, section 1, of the Constitution: “All legislative powers herein shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which consist of a senate and House of Representatives”.
  • Intresting!
