- 10 years prior, Madoc kills Jude's parents (one in white dress) and takes her twin and older sister, Vivi to Faerie where the story takes place
- I want to fight in the battle to become a knight of the next high king of faerie
- Jude, you can fight, but I will not allow you to be a knight
- Jude fights, she meets Locke, she hates the youngest prince Cardan and his friends Valerian and Nacissa. Her twin, Tarin is secretly dating Locke as an arranged marriage. Long story short, she becomes a spy for the heir to the throne prince Dain. At Dains coronation, he and his entire family accept for Cardan is murdered by Dain and Cardan's older brother Balekin so Balekin can have the throne. Balekin however cannot wear the crown due to his bloodline. Jude knows someone who can be crowned and crown the new high king. So as a mission, she must now put Cardan on the throne after lying to him

- Fine, as long as I am free
