- in the scene, Hamlet is going through real grief about his father's death and he shows this by wearing all black, sighing deeply, crying, and just overall feeling sad and showing it. he is feeling real grief here not just pretending like his mother or just the outward demonstrations of it.
- Love?
- "this is for all; i would not, in plain terms, from this time forth have you so slander any moment leisure as to give words or talk with the lord hamlet ."
- Barnardo and Francisco are nervous about this ghost they have been seeing at the castle and they try and tell it to reveal itself but are not successful ..... yet.

- Horatio, and Marcellus are debating on telling Hamlet about the ghost that they have been seeing that looks like his dad.
- "crazy" man
- Ophelia is told to stay away from Hamlet. Polonius says that hamlets actions and words arent true that he doesn't actually love her.
- With Polonius thinking that Hamlet is just madly in love with Ophelia. He (Hamlet) is actually just trying to make her think that he is crazy fooling her along with everyone else.
