- This battle took place because of mixed opinions over slavery
- How?
- The south needed african-americans as slaves to work at plantation for the owners benefit. The north weren't too happy about this so they started passing passing laws very slowly restricting slavery. This caused some heated conflict along the borders. One of the locations of conflict was Fort sumter.
