Storyboard Text

  • The environment is white, The different traits are brown and white, But There is a higher distribution of white foxes in this environment.
  • Parent 1(dad)
  • Parent 2 (Mom)
  • The environment changes from a white environment to a brown environment. The white foxes have decreased in the population because they are no longer adaptive to the environment meaning they are going to get eaten by predators.
  • In this environment you can see that there are only brown foxes now because they are able to not get eaten by predators because they are able to camouflage. This trait(Brown fur) is the most common because the environment is brown.
  • White fox- Brown fox
  • Organisms get their traits by inheriting genes from their parents to get that specific trait(Brown fur). Also a parent passes down one copy of chromosomes, there are segments of genes found on chromosomes giving instructions for making a protein molecule.
  • Offspring
  • Offspring
  • Brown fur became more common because it became an adaptive trait to the environment meaning the brown foxes reproduced more.
  • Natural selection is when the distribution of a trait changes, For example at first there was a higher distribution of white foxes because of the white environment then there was a higher distribution of brown foxes because of the brown environment.
