  • I shouldn’t of did that. George’ll be mad. An’ . . . . he said . . . . an’ hide in the brush till he come. He’s gonna be mad. In the brush till he come. Tha’s what he said.
  • Sure, right now. I gotta. We gotta.

  • Get him, Lennie. Don’t let him do it.
  • Make ‘um stop, George.
  • This is a prime example of person versus self and is an internal conflict where Lennie is having a wave of emotions where he is afraid, sad, and quite possibly mad at himself for what he has done in this situation.
  • This is an internal conflict and by far one of the most conflicting things George has ever had to deal with in his life and shows a really good example of person versus self because all of the emotions inside him are against one another in this moment.
  • In this picture, it shows an example of an internal and external conflict with person versus person where Lennie is getting attacked by Curley but is also a person versus self where Lennie is trying to decide if he should do something to stop Curley from hurting him more
