Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I'm the cherry above, and as I make my way through the digestive system, I'm going to show you!
  • So, right now I'm in the mouth. This is the first place food goes. This is also where food is chewed to make it easier to digest.
  • Once I leave the mouth, I enter the esophagus. The esophagus leads all food eaten into the stomach (including me!).
  • Next, I am transported to the stomach. This is where I am broken down by enzymes that digest food.
  •
  • Now that I've made it out of that acidic stomach, I'm in the small intestine. In the small intestine, I am still being broken down and my nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream.
  • Now that I'm in the large intestine, I am finally being processed into waste. Here, stool is passed through the colon, starting in a liquid state then in a solid form. The water will be removed from me and stored in the sigmoid colon.
