On an extra extraordinary day, Isaac Newton had walked down a trail. He had noticed an apple hanging onto what looked liked a dead tree. Then all of a sudden a question had come to his head. What keeps the moon from traveling in its orbit around Earth?
Then, the apple fell and light was brought to his world. He thought that the same force that pulled the apple away from the tree was the same force that was tugging at the moon. However he thought that the moon was farther away from Earth so the force was weaker which allows the moon to just barely circle around the Earth. While he had had some logic behind his idea he now needed to prove it.
Now that Newton knew more knowledge about his topic, he was ready to conduct experiments. He conducted his experiment in a simple formula. F=Gm1m2/r² or g=GM/r²
To measure and record the data he published a book in 1687, known as the Principia or Principles. This book held all the explaining and knowledge behind the laws of Gravity.
To analyze or interpret his data in his book he established laws of gravity. Gravity is what he decided to call his discovery. He also made the three laws of motion. All of Newtons laws made sense mathematically and logically to why the moon rotated around earth and why all planets in the solar system rotate around the sun.
To this day Newtons discoveries will forever be someething that everyone remembers. After all we wouldn't be this far in science or math without him. So when you hear the word Gravity remember the name Isaac Newton.
