- the day of the dead is celebrated on November 1-2. This is when family or friends remember love ones that have died.
- The day of the dead is mainly associated with Mexico. Family and friends gather and pray for those deceased.
- family gather at cemeteries and set up the alters and place offerings. the family offers things that the passed one loved.

- the day of the dead is celebrated over 2 days on November 1 the children come back and visit and on November 2 the adults come back and visit.
- on November 2 the last day families go to the graves to clean and decorate them. During the holiday it is believed that the spiritual passageway between the ones that have died and those that are still alive is opened allowing the ones that have died come and visit.
- another symbol of the day of the dead are skulls that appear everywhere during November 1-2. many people dress up or paint their face a skull. this holiday mainly focuses on remembering those that have passed.
