- Riley! You should come with us to see the new Marvel Movie next Friday. Can you join us?
- As she leaves class Friday afternoon, Riley's friends from high school invite her to hangout with them in the future.
- Sorry guys, I have to watch my baby because my boyfriend has to work then.
- That evening at home, Riley wishes she could hangout with friends while watching her baby and so thinks of ways to hangout with other young mothers
- She pulls out her phone and downloads a social app and scrolls through a list of general public one-time events on the landing screen. After fifteen minutes of looking and not finding an event for only young mothers, Riley decides to create her own event.
- To create an event Riley is first prompted to give biographical information about herself (including that she is a young mother) to make sure she herself matches the description of the people she wants to hang out with. She then creates an event only visible and joinable to other young mothers who attend Oakland University and who live in her city.
- The next morning, on Saturday, Riley checks her phone and there's a notification that two other young moms that attend Oakland and live in her city applied to join her event. Throughout Saturday Riley checks out the applicant's profiles and texts them in a group chat via the app to get to know them. That afternoon, after deciding to accept them into the event, the group schedules a time and place to hang out with their kids.
- The following Wednesday afternoon, Riley meets her new potential friends at the local mall at the scheduled time and they chat as their kids play together.
