- You are such a useless boy! Now what will we eat?
- You think anybody wants to beg! Now go outside and gather some food.
- Father, I do not want to beg.
- Once upon a time, during the rule of a king, two infants were born in the same town, at the same time on the same day. One was born in a poor house while the other was born in the palace. The child born in the palace was named Prince Edward and the one in the poverty-stricken house was named Tom Canty - The Pauper.
- No matter where you were born, you can always choose to be whatever you want! If you have to choose to be between a pauper or a greedy, dishonest person what will you choose to be?
- Exactly and now you know you can choose to be anyone you want!
- Professor I do not want to beg. Why was I born in a pauper's house, why not the palace?
- If the only other option is to a greedy, dishonest man, then I will chose to be a pauper and stay honest.
- Prince Edward lived a luxurious life while Tom Canty had too beg to fill his empty stomach.
- What are you doing here?
- Tom Canty was being rebuked by his father since he had not earned good amount of money. Tom hated begging but was compelled to beg by his very own father.
- I am Tom Canty. I am a pauper
- Hello! I am Prince Edward and its very nice to meet you! Who are you?
- The only person who gave importance to Tom was Professor Andrews who taught in a nearby school. He was really encouraging and used to help him a lot!
- He was wandering around when he reached the palace. He was surprised by its enormity and tried to get a closer look. Sadly, he was caught!
- As soon as the guards threw him out, Prince Edward came running out and helped him up. He was frustrated about the behavior of the guards.
