  • 1956: Clinical Trials of oral contraceptives began and were widely successful. Planned parenthood began administering oral contraception.
  • 1965: Court case, Griswold vs. Connecticut. Griswold was advocating for married couples to have the ability to purchase contraception against Connecticut state law.

  • 1960: Margaret Sanger started a movement, resulting in birth control becoming accessible to more women. Supply was still very limited and exclusive

  • 1970: The film, Concepts and Controversies in Modern Medicine, caused unrest in women using oral contraception. Health risks of the pill were not explained previously
  • Can you believe that movie?! None of the doctors were advocating for us, how are we supposed to inform ourselves of the health risks of birth control?
