The Monkey's Paw By: W.W Jacobs
Mr. White, Mrs. White and their Son, Herbert are greeted at their home by Sergeant-Major Morris. Sergeant Morris is there to tell the family about his wild scenes and brave acts at war.
Sergeant Morris begins to tell the family about the ''Monkey's Paw'' . He includes how the item can grant wishes but he also the consequences. He throws it in the first but Mrs. White grabs it before it burns. The family has made their three wishes.
Mr. White and Mrs. White receive bad news. Their son, Herbert has been killed in an accident at the factory he worked at. Although their son had passed, to help pay for his service the factory made a payment of two hundred pounds. Which is what Mr. white wished for.
Mr. White has realized that the money coincidence and his wife is still grieving. She then convinces to use one more wish to bring back their son.
They believe their last wish to bring back their son had come true and he knocking at the door. They rushed outside the greet their son but all they see is a streetlight and a deserted road.
