I chose this event because it was very eventful and almost all of the odds were against Arnold and his small navy. Benedict Arnold knew the risks. If he lost the blame would all be on him and the revolution might have well been lost. But because of Benedict's bravery and quick thinking he saved the Patriots and he saved the revolution. He succeeded in pushing back the British invasion until after winter when the ice on the water melted. That is how this event shows Benedict Arnold was a hero.
Soon the British realized the Americans were escaping. It was a race to Crown Point. Men were frantically repairing the tattered boats.
After setting their ships on fire they reached fort Ticonderoga and the British attack never came and the British would have to start their invasion all over again.
