- When the ship arrived in the United States, Imaan was sold so as her family. They were bought by a businessman who needed workers for his plantation business.
- We worked around 15-16 hours everyday. Everyone would work no matter their age or health either weather.
- Okay!
- Time to go to bed
- Those who were rebellious or disobeyed by not listening to their masters orders would need to be punished and abused, some would even end dead since they couldn't resist.
- This is the best thing it has ever happened to me!
- Everyday after they finished working their masters would order them to entertain them, Imaan always chose to dance with her siblings and her friends while others would sing typical songs.
- They would sleep inside small cabins per families or small groups. They lived far from the master's house but always under watched.
- Years passed and Imaan with her family found the perfect opportunity to escape from their slave life. It was early morning and they ran as fast as they could making no sound without being watched.
