Storyboard Description

For chapter 5, the concepts that I used were chronemics (the man being late for the date) and paralanguage (the long sigh that indicates the frustration of the woman)

Storyboard Text

  • "I've been waiting for over 35 minutes for him. Him being late tells me he doesn't care enough about this date. I wonder if he will even show up. I am getting frustrated."
  • *Sigh*
  • "Hi! I am sorry I am late."
  • "Woah- what's with the long sigh? "
  • "'What's with the long sigh??' I am incredibly frustrated that you were nearly 40 minutes late for our date. You being late communicates that you do not care enough about me or this date!!" 
  • *gulp*

  • "I think I am going to go watch another episode of TV. What's 4 more hours?"

  • "OMG!! You're room is a disaster!! I asked you 20 times, but you were so preoccupied with your TV show that I doubt you heard me!"

  • Do NOT act ungrateful in public! You just say "thank you" for taking you to this restaurant!!
