- He was a revolutionary leader in the Philippine-American war. He was captured during the war and forced to plead an oath to the U.S. to be released which ended the war. He tried to run for president, but failed. He was later used when the Japanese invaded the Philippines as an anti-American tool.

- An amendment that says the Cuba cannot make treaties with other nations as well as restricting their commercial relations.
