- Ok, now since you know how to use a micrometer screw gauge we should test you on it

- What are these two readings?
- 7. Main Scale = 8.5mm Thimble Scale = 25 × 0.01 = 0.25Actual Reading = 8.5mm + 0.25mm = 8.75mm
- 9. Main Scale = 7mm Thimble Scale = 4 × 0.01 = 0.04Actual Reading = 7mm + 0.04mm = 7.04mm
- What this tool is best suited to measure and a job that requires this instrument.
- Ok now that the hard stuff's gone there are two last things to discuss.
- A micrometer is best suited to get the precise measurement of minuscule objects such as the diameter of a strand of hair and the thickness of a sheet of paper
- ....and that is all you need to know about the micrometer screw gauge!
