1828-Jackson 1st election
In the election of 1824 Jackson and John Q. Adams were neck and neck at the election, but Jackson won the popular vote. With the help of Adams friend, Henry Clay, help him get the spot in office for that election. This election became an example of Corrupt Bargain.
1828- South Carolina Nullification
A tariff that John C. Calhoun passed to cut any imported goods. This tariff favored the north and the south was not so pleased with it.
1830-Worcester vs. Georgia
Andrew Jackson was elected in 1828 and served as our 7th president until 1837. He was a common man that brought the people into his decisions. He did good and some bad while he was in office.
1836- Trail of Tears
Congress passed a tariff that favored the Northern states, and the South was outraged due to their reliance on imported goods. Then South Carolina denied the offer the first time.
