- Monsieur Loisel is sad that she has nothings she thinks i appropriate for the party.

- Monsieur Loisel gives Madame Loisel money for a new party dress and she gets a necklace from a from a friend.
- RESOLUTION
- Madame Loisel losses necklace and she becomes sad because she can't find it.
- Monsieur Loisel uses money he inherited and makes scandalous loans to buy a new necklace and gives it to Madame Loisel's friend.
- They finally pay off the dept and Madame Loisel tells her friend that she swapped the necklace with a new one, but her friend tells her it was only paste.
