- George Washington wanted to build a fort but the French had already built fort Duquesne.

- Washington launched a surprise attack and the French retreated
- The French counterattacked with almost four times the size of his army, so Washington had to surrender.

- George Washington tells the Governor of Virginia what happened
- So, I have some bad news. We fought for land, we lost. Now I have started a war.
- WHAT!?
- That was the start of the French and Indian War.
