- Inside the royal palace...
- Banquo:I wonder if the witches' predictions actually have something to do with Macbeth's crowning of king. If that part of the prediction came true, would the part where my bloodline takes over the throne also come true?
- Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and the court enters.
- Macbeth:Ah, Banquo! My wife and I want to invite you to a banquet hosted tonight.
- Lady Macbeth and Banquo leave and Macbeth dismisses the court.
- Macbeth:Alright. I will see you then. We should also discuss about Malcolm and Donalbain.
- Banquo:Sounds great! I will be riding my horse with my son during the day, but I will try to make it back for the feast.
- Macbeth:Are they still waiting for me? Go and fetch them now.
- Servant:There are some men who have come to see you.
- Macbeth is now left alone and starts his soliloquy.
- Macbeth:Oh that Banquo! I know that he is loyal and smart. I may have the crown now, but I worry that it can be taken from me. How is it that my old friend is the one I fear the most?
- Macbeth:If the witches' predictions are true, it will not be my children that will succeed me. Have I murdered Duncan just to pave the way for Banquo's children?
