  • Expostion 
  •          "True- nervous-very, very dreadfully nervous  I had been am; but will you say that I am mad? ...."
  • Conflict 
  • I hate this old man's evil eye, I hope it dies!
  • Rising Action 
  • Zzzz
  • In the beginning of the story the narrator was explaining how he can hear everything and how he feels threatens by the old man's eye.  He then continues with his story and goes on about how badly he want's to defeat the old man's eye.
  • Rising Action
  • The major conflict in the story is the narrotor vs. the old man's eye; this conflict is external. 
  • Climax
  •      That's it! I can't take it anymore! I killed thee old man.
  • The first part of the rising action is when the narrator decides to go into the old man's bedroom for eight nights. He does this because on the first seven nights the old man's eye was close, but since the narrator started to chuckle and made a lot of noise on the eighth night, the old man woke up.
  • Resoultion 
  • Come on let's go, your going to be in jail for a long time.
  • In the second part of the rising action was when the narrator flipped the bed on top of the old man and killed him. He then cut up the old man's body and shoved it under the floorboard.
  • Die evil eye!  Die!
  • Ahhhhhhh!
  • In the climax, the narrator feels so guilty that he thinks he's hearing the old man's heart beating. He then confesses to the police who had been called by the old man's neighbor.  
  • In conclusion, the narrator gets arrested by the police because he confessed about killing  the old man.
