  • The Jay Treaty was an agreement between Britain and French in which they agreed or refused certain ideas so that they could try to fix problems.
  • XYZ Affair
  • In Washington's Farewell Speech, he gave the U.S some advice before he went. He said to keep the country carefully guarded. stay out of european problems, and to keep the public educated.
  • Alien and Sedition Acts
  • These two political parties had very different opinions which unfortunately divided them greatly.

  • John adams sent three missionaries to france to sort out confusion. The french tried to bibe the americans
  • The Alien and Sedition acts didn't give "aliens" privacy. It also gave the president permission to remove anybody who talked of him badly or was a threat to national security. 
  • The federalists lost both houses of congress and presidency. They attempted to pack the legislature with federalist judges.
