- After the games
- There are 3 tributes left in the game Katniss, Peeta, and Cato. The Game-makers sent some mutant mutts at the three remaining tributes. They all took shelter on the Cornucopia and fought. Eventually Cato falls of Cornucopia and then go eaten but the mutts. This is important to the book because it was the person who fought the winners. Along with that Katniss retrieved her genius idea.
- The return to district 12
- District twelve
- After the game makers changed the rules to only one person can win, Katniss came up with the idea for her and Peeta to both team up and eat the nightlook berries rather than kill each other. Under the pressure the game makers said to stop and announced the new Hunger games winners. This is important to the plot because it is the ending of the games.
- After Katniss wakes up back in the capitol, she deals with all the angry people mad at the fact that she threatened them that she would comit suicide and making the game makers bend the rules. Katniss and Peeta then decided to take a victory walk around the place.
- Katniss and Peeta then return to district twelve rich wealthy and victorious and all healed.
