- In 1905 - 1906, both Germany and France wanted Morocco.
- France was given a free hand in Morocco because of the entente with Britain in 1904.

- Germany sent out a gunboat called Panther to Agadir because France received special privileges and even took over the capital of Morocco, putting a pro-French sultan in charge.
- Britain helps French by threatening to go to war with Germany. Because Britain had a better organised army, and the support of France, Germany had to give up.
- Austria took over bosnia and also strengthened their position in the Balkans withpught giving Russia any compensation. Austria then crushed Serbia's dream of creating a Greater serbia.
