Individuals should only be made right with God through their faith.
The Catholic Church shouldn't be presenting indulgences
Martin Luther was born on the 10th Novemeber 1483 in Eisleben Germany. In 1505 he was stuck in a thunderstorm where he cried out to the patron miners St Anne. He cried "Save me St Anne and I'll become a monk". The storm ened and Luther was saved.
The indulgence reduced the punishment in purgatory to absolve sins which was granted by Pope Leo X to help build St Peter's Basilica. Martin Luther didn't agree with the Pope's choice to introduce and sell the indulgences to society. He believed that an" individual should only be made right with God through their faith".
Martin Luther wrote 95 Statements known as the 95 Theses about what the Catholic Church was doing wrong presenting and selling indulgences. He didn't agree with the Popes desicion so he used the printing press to print the 95 Theses.
