  • We will make are second attack soon.
  • This was one of the most important wars for the North. It was the turning point for the civil war.

  • For the North, General George C. Meade, and for the South, General Robert E. Lee
  • Where
  • After a series of wins, Robert E. Lee decided to make a second attack. Both sides hoped this would be the last battle.
  • Results
  • Over the course of several days, lee made several attack, though the North remained defensively strong. After 3 days Lee retreated to Virginia.
  • Most of the battle took place in a peach orchard, cemetery, and farmland.
  • Gettysburg was considered to be a victory for the Union.
