Storyboard Text

  • Julius Caesar was born in 100 B.C. Caesar was born into a senatorial, patrician family, that was also poor.
  • Caesar launched a powerful career which was political and military. Once he crossed the Rubicon River, he stated “The Die is Cast!” He started a civil war with Pompey and ultimately, deafen him.
  • One reason why he was so popular was because he regulated the distribution of grain. Caesar made sure that the people didn’t go hungry, which was important to get people on his side.
  • The reason why he was so popular with common people was that he increased the size of the Senate to represent more people. This was important because if the Senate represents more people, their would be more voices and ideas on how decisions should be made.
  • I will make sure that the Senate represents more people
  • In 44 B.C Caesar announced he was “dictator for life” which didn’t go well with Roman politicians. This ended the Roman Republic.
  • I declare myself a dictator for life!
