- When the story starts, Percy and his class at are on a field trip at a museum. Percy is accused of pushing a girl into the water when somehow, the water pushed her. Mrs. Dodds then calls Percy inside to have a...chat with him (it wasn't much of a chat). Mrs. Dodds then turned into a monster and Percy ended up beating Mrs. Dodds.
- Chimeras and Chaos
- In this part of the book, when Percy gets back from boarding school, Percy and his mom are on vacation. When suddenly, Grover shows up unexpectedly at their door and starts saying that something is there. Percy of course is confused and the three try to escape in a car. The car ends up crashing and Percy tries to take Grover to safety. Shortly after, his mom gets captured by a monster.
- Hades's Home Address
- You are brave to come here, Son of Poseidon.
- After that rather chaotic sequence of events, Percy wakes up at Camp Half-Blood which, as the title suggests, is a Camp only for Half-Bloods. After a savage game of capture the flag, Percy runs into a Hellhound and they get into a fight. The Hellhound immediately faints when it touches water. A green trident then appears on Percy's head. Chiron says that Percy's bloodline has been determined and this is how we discover Percy is Poseidon's son.
- Like Father, Like Son
- In this part of the book, Percy and his friends are in the Gateway Arch. When his friends get in the cart to leave, Percy can't get in due to the fact that it's full. A lady waiting right next to him has a Chimera that almost attacked him! The lady told him to jump off the building for his safety. He was taking too long so he was pushed off. Luckily, he landed safely in water.
- In this part of the book, Percy and his friends go to Hades's home and try to convince him that there can't be a war between the gods. Somehow, the Master Bolt ends up to be inside Percy's backpack, and Hades sends them away.
- In this part of the book, Percy goes to the Home of the Gods to clear some things up with the gods. This part is very important because Percy gets to meet his dad, Poseidon. He's very happy, especially after he congratulates Percy for his efforts.
- You are a true Son of the Sea God, and for that I shall always be proud.
