Storyboard Text

  • There once was a girl who lived her life off the stage. She worked behind the scenes in stage crew (she was a bit of a prodigy, but would never admit it) and avoided the spotlight at all costs. She wore dark clothes, kept her hair down in the hopes of hiding her face, and didn't talk much to anyone.
  • It wasn't much, but it was good. She did what she loved without expecting (nor receiving) validation, and she did it so that others would be happy with themselves. Though it resulted in her not having many friends or many comforts, it was comforting in itself. Off-stage was good. Better to live your life half-invisible than constantly be in a spotlight, right?
  • Sometimes, she would catch herself staring at the actors in envy. They got recognition, fame, stardom. But the better you were at working behind the scenes, the less people would see you. She became incredibly mad at herself every time she caught herself doing this. There wasn't much she could do about her own thoughts besides call herself dramatic and get back to work.
  • And so, no one noticed her spending more and more of her time in the theater, away from everyone else. It wasn't that she didn't feel like she belonged, for if she made an effort, she was sure that she'd find friends. It was just that she'd rather not. To be friends with a computer is much easier, anyway. Before she knew it, years had elapsed, and she had grown aloof and distant.
  • So it was on the day of a perfectly ordinary show. Everything was going as planned, but something was off. The carboard cutouts of monsters looked a little too realistic And so why... why were they moving? And towards the audience, no less!
  • She refused to succumb to the paralysis of terror, and instead, her mind began working furiously. She briefly wondered if she was hallucinating, but as everyone backstage seemed to be yelling about monsters, she knew that this was real. It was imperative that she came up with some way to pacify the monsters before they got to the audience - someone was going to end up hurt.
