The setting of arriving at the dome at a new mysterious planet effects Sam because he doesn't know what to expect or even why he is there. In the picture it shows Sam outside the dome with a facial expression of confusion, since the setting made him feel confused.
We trust the computer!!!
The setting of the bedroom and being with Sam's new roommate Robert, makes Sam feel relaxed and relieved that he can finally start asking questions about the hallucinations and can figure out what is going one.
Am I hallucinating myself...?
Sam goes and asks if he can leave the dome and go and explore the planet. His setting hinted at him to do this since ,Sam just got there recently and wants to go learn about where he will be living and working. Since the setting has had lots of hallucinations he wants to go and find out more.
The setting effects Sam because everyone around him trusts and likes the central computer. So, even though he thinks that he would be better in a different study he still has faith in the computer. If the people around Sam didn't trust the computer, he most likely wouldn't either.
I guess I do too
Setting effects Sam because everyone around him is hallucinating so, he wants to figure out why and see what is causing it. Also since he loves the study of the brain it's perfect for him, so when an opportunity that the setting creates for him to study the brain he jumps on the opportunity.
I should investigate it
Sam's setting of being out exploring the planet effects him because there, he sees a cow transformed by fog. This makes him very intrigued and curious if the cow is a hallucination or actually there. This definitely makes him want to learn more about it.
