On page 25 lines 2 and 3 it says "the flowers were blossoming profusely and he grass was richly green." This is an image because when you read this
Ad Hominem - "you didn't give him time enough to take any paper he wanted. I saw you. I wasn't fair." She is arguing for her husband who has to die because he wasn't given enough time to take a paper on his own.
On line 219 it says "after that, there was a long pause, a breathless pause." That is suspenseful because nobody knows who has the dot and who will die that day until everyone looks at their paper.
