- Trenton
- the battle of bunker hill took place outside of Boston on Jun 17 1775. The British won this battle but not easily and they had almost double the amount of fallen soldiers than they had had before. This was a significant battle because it showed that the colonists could hold there own and that this wouldn't be an easy fight.
- Valley Forge
- The battle of New York took place in New York on august 27 1776. The British defeated the colonists once again and took control of New York. This battle made the colonists feel even more hopeless and defeated.
- Saratoga
- The battle of Trenton took place in Trenton New Jersey on December 26 1776. The colonist crossed the Delaware river under the cover of night and were able surprise the hessians with almost no casualties letting them win the battle of Trenton. This win gave a big morale boost to the colonist and lots more people began to have faith in them.
- Yorktown
- the winter of valley forge took place outside of philiy in December 1777. the colonist suffered through freezing temperatures with barely any clothing food or warmth however marqui de Lafayette supplied the colonists with clothing and blankets to help them through the winter. this "battle" strengthened the colonists but was defiantly brutal experience.

- The battle at Saratoga took place in the Hudson river in new York on September 19 through October 7th 1777. The Colonist were also able to defeat the British in this battle with a few more casualties but they did get some help from the French. this battle was extremely significant because it confirmed the alliance between the colonists and the French.
- we are the French and we are here to help our allies the colonists!
- The battle of Yorktown took place in Virginia in September 28 and October 19 1781. the colonists played defense during this war by just trying to tire the British out they had surrounded them and the British had no other option than to retreat. The colonists won this war finally claiming independence from Britain when they officials signed the peace treaty in 1783.
